01 / CHARLOTTE ROAD RALLY · PROPOSED ROUTES

TWO DRIVES. ONE GOOD CAUSE.

Each drive targets 2½–3 hours total, outbound and return combined, from central Charlotte. Stops add time. Hotel start point and final roads are pending; these are planning estimates, not approved or timed rally routes.

01 / Morrow Mountain

Approximately 2½–3 hours round trip
Charlotte → NC 24/27 corridor through Locust and Albemarle → Morrow Mountain State Park → return to Charlotte.

Piedmont countryside and a wooded park destination. Allow extra time if adding the summit road. Paved-road concept; check low-car clearance, parking for 7–10 teams, and group arrangements on a pre-drive.

02 / South Mountains

Approximately 3 hours round trip
Charlotte → Gastonia → US 321 / NC 18 approach → South Mountains State Park, Jacob Fork access → return to Charlotte.

A foothills destination with rural approaches. Current Wards Gap Road construction requires a detour that may push the drive beyond 3 hours. Recheck access and timing before selection; some facilities remain closed.

Planning basis: Morrow Mountain ~1 hr 14 min each way; South Mountains ~90 min each way. Check live directions, gate hours and road conditions. No off-road sections or speed competition are proposed. Suggested stops and vehicle suitability require organizer confirmation.
